Corp. Gift App
An internal enterprise solution built using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate to digitise, track, and streamline the university's corporate gift inventory and request workflows.
End-to-End Workflow Digitisation
Previously, internal operational requests suffered from fragmented manual workflows and untracked email threads. By mapping the full procurement journey, I transformed a legacy administrative process into a structured, self-service digital application, significantly reducing operational friction for staff.
Intuitive Low-Code Interface
Built on Power Apps Canvas, the front-end provides a clean, responsive user experience. The interface allows cross-departmental staff to easily browse real-time inventory catalogues, submit requests, input cost-centre details, and track their order statuses instantly without requiring technical training.
Automated Approval Pipelines
Leveraging Microsoft Power Automate, I integrated dynamic, multi-stage approval logic directly into the application. Requisitions are automatically routed to relevant department heads via Microsoft Teams alerts and automated emails, ensuring swift, accountable, and documented decision-making.
Real-Time Inventory Control
The application is securely backed by structured SharePoint lists, enabling automated balance deductions and low-stock alerts. This architecture prevents stock discrepancies and generates a centralised, transparent transaction log for seamless procurement auditing and governance.

Inventory Concurrency & Data Integrity
Transitioning from fragmented spreadsheets to a live system meant addressing data concurrency—ensuring stock levels remain accurate when multiple staff submit requests simultaneously. I architected robust SharePoint relational databases with automated validation checks in Power Apps to prevent over-requisitioning and maintain a strict single source of truth for procurement audits.
Dynamic Multi-Tier Approval Routing
A major operational challenge was automating the institute's complex, division-specific approval hierarchies. I leveraged Power Automate to build dynamic routing logic that automatically identifies the correct reporting officer based on the requester's department data. This triggers sequential Microsoft Teams and email approvals securely, eliminating manual routing delays.
Optimising UX Within Low-Code Constraints
While Power Apps accelerates development, native canvas UI limitations can sometimes hinder the end-user experience. I overcame these constraints by engineering custom, responsive interface components and streamlining the form logic. This rigorous focus on usability ensured high adoption rates among non-technical staff, successfully shifting them away from legacy email requests.

outcome
The deployment of the Corporate Gift Requisition App successfully transformed a legacy, manual process into a streamlined digital workflow. By centralising inventory management and automating approval pipelines, the institute significantly reduced administrative processing times. The application now provides complete operational transparency, ensuring accurate stock control and a seamless, self-service experience for staff across all divisions.
